Myanmar

Myanmar, also known as Burma, is a country located in Southeast Asia. It shares borders with Bangladesh, India, China, Laos, and Thailand and has a coastline along the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Myanmar is known for its diverse ethnic groups, rich cultural heritage, and significant historical sites, including ancient temples and pagodas. The country has a complex political history, marked by periods of military rule, civil unrest, and efforts towards democratization. The capital city is Naypyidaw, while Yangon (formerly known as Rangoon) is the largest city and a major economic center. Myanmar’s economy is primarily based on agriculture, but it also has natural resources like gas and minerals. The country officially adopted the name “Myanmar” in 1989, although “Burma” and its associated historical context are still used by some.
