OTAN

OTAN, or NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), is an intergovernmental military alliance established in 1949. Its primary purpose is to ensure collective defense and security among member countries through a mutual defense agreement, which states that an attack against one member is considered an attack against all. OTAN was founded in response to the geopolitical tensions of the time, particularly the threat posed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The organization promotes democratic values and enables members to consult and cooperate on defense and security-related issues. Over the years, OTAN has expanded its membership and has taken part in various missions beyond traditional military defense, including crisis management and cooperative security initiatives.
