Paramilitaire

The term “paramilitary” refers to groups or organizations that are organized similarly to a military force but are not officially part of a country’s armed forces. These groups may be armed and can operate independently or in coordination with state military or law enforcement agencies. Paramilitary forces often engage in activities such as combat, policing, or security operations, but they do so outside the official military structure and command. They may arise in contexts like domestic security, insurgency, or conflict where conventional military forces are involved. Paramilitary groups can vary widely in structure, purpose, and allegiance, from state-sponsored militias to insurgent movements, and may operate under a variety of legal and ethical frameworks.
