Whistleblowers

Whistleblowers are individuals who report or expose information about wrongdoing, unethical behavior, or illegal activities within an organization or institution. This information can include violations of laws, regulations, or company policies that may harm the public interest or compromise safety. Whistleblowers often work in various fields, including government, medical, corporate, and nonprofit sectors. They play a critical role in promoting transparency and accountability by bringing attention to misconduct that might otherwise go unreported. Whistleblowers may do so anonymously or openly, but they often face potential retaliation, such as job loss or harassment, as a result of their disclosures. Legal protections are in place in many countries to safeguard whistleblowers from such retaliation.
